Role:
The Cafe Lead plays a crucial role in creating a welcoming and efficient environment for students and staff within the educational services sector. This position is responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring high-quality food and beverage service, and maintaining a clean and organized cafe space. The Cafe Lead will also be instrumental in training and mentoring staff, fostering a positive team culture, and enhancing customer satisfaction. By implementing effective inventory management and cost control measures, the Cafe Lead will contribute to the financial success of the cafe. Ultimately, this role aims to provide an enjoyable dining experience that supports the educational mission of the institution.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience in a food service or cafe environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s degree in hospitality management or a related field. Experience working in an educational setting or with a diverse student population.
Responsibilities:
Supervise daily cafe operations, including staff management, customer service, and food preparation. Train, mentor, and schedule cafe staff to ensure efficient service and adherence to health and safety standards. Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain equipment to ensure smooth operations. Develop and implement promotional strategies to enhance customer engagement and increase sales. Collaborate with educational staff to create menu offerings that align with student preferences and dietary needs.
