Zest Culinary Services ( formerly known as MMI Dining Systems ) at Jackson Prep School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Food Service Supervisor with a strong culinary background to oversee daily food service operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on cooking experience, leadership skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment. This position is responsible for supervising staff, ensuring food safety compliance, assisting in menu execution, and maintaining efficient kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate kitchen and front-of-house food service staff to ensure efficient operations. Assist in food preparation and cooking to maintain quality and consistency. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations. Train, mentor, and support team members to enhance performance and efficiency. Maintain inventory levels, order supplies, and monitor food costs. Work closely with the Food Service Director to develop menus and implement recipes. Address customer concerns and ensure a positive dining experience. Oversee food presentation and portion control to maintain high standards. Implement and uphold company policies and procedures. Assist with scheduling, payroll, and employee performance evaluations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Culinary experience is required (minimum of 5 years in a commercial kitchen). Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role in food service. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations (ServSafe certification preferred). Strong organizational, problem-solving skills, and ability to multi-task Excellent communication and team-building abilities. High school diploma or equivalent; culinary certification is a plus.
