Food Preparation Chef, server, dishwasher Fat’z soul food & catering 608 Buffalo Road, Smithfield, NC 27577 Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and a strong understanding of kitchen operations. This role is essential in delivering high-quality meals while maintaining the standards of food safety and hygiene. The Cook will work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient service in a fast-paced environment. Duties Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and menus. Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with health and safety regulations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including proper storage of food items. Assist in menu planning and development, considering dietary restrictions and preferences. Monitor inventory levels of food supplies and assist in ordering as needed. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service during meal periods. Participate in training new kitchen staff on food handling procedures and cooking techniques. Adhere to portion control guidelines to minimize waste while ensuring quality. Requirements Proven experience as a Cook or in a similar role within the food industry, preferably in a restaurant or dietary department setting. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen equipment. Familiarity with food handling regulations and best practices for maintaining hygiene standards. Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment. Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed. A culinary degree or certification is a plus but not required; experience is highly valued.
