Circuit 10: Polk County Circuit 11: Miami-Dade County Circuit 12: Manatee, DeSoto, and Sarasota Counties Circuit 15: Palm Beach County Circuit 16: Monroe County Circuit 17: Broward County Circuit 19: Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee, and St. Lucie Counties Circuit 20: Charlotte, Collier, Lee, and Hendry Counties What You’ll Do As a Regional Workforce Education Coordinator
- South Region, you’ll report directly to the Director of DJJ Postsecondary and Workforce Education through the Project Anchor grant between Tallahassee State College and the Department of Juvenile Justice.
Day-to-day, you’ll be responsible for the following: Conduct program monitoring, review and evaluation of all Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs for quality and fidelity. Conduct site visits at DJJ programs and reports on site specific CTE activities to the Director of Postsecondary and Workforce Education. Communicates information to the residential and educational providers as necessary. Reviews and confirms compliance of educational providers industry certification credentials and provides technical support to meet state and federal regulations regarding CTE programs. Monitors timely administration and completion of Florida Ready to Work Soft Skills, OSHA 10, CPR and First Aid. Provides technical support to staff administering career assessments to ensure timely administration and fidelity. Provides technical support to Detention Centers and monitors fidelity and completion of career exploration component. Provides technical assistance, problem resolution and conducts CTE education site visits for residential DJJ providers that provide a CTE education program. Collaborates with education services and residential staff in the assigned circuits to problem-solve issues impacting access to CTE options for students. Collaborates with the statewide commitment manager to ensure appropriate program placement using career assessment results. Develops and monitors cooperative agreements between school districts, CareerSource, pre-apprenticeships, community partners, business partners, colleges and universities, and DJJ to provide support for CTE programs and opportunities for exiting students. Provides curriculum resources, guidance and support to CTE teachers, staff and educational providers to assist with career pathway development. Provides support and monitors Industry Certifications earned from the Master Credential list, collects data reports to ensure consistency with FLDOE. Coordinates multiagency partnerships and collaborates with the Director of Postsecondary and Workforce Education to review and respond to CTE data. Plans, coordinates and/or presents at statewide and regional conferences, meetings and workshops. Reviews educational records for students returning to assigned circuits and participates in community reentry team meetings to discuss continued CTE upon release from commitment. Reviews Perkins grant awards and allocated budgets to ensure program projects and resources are expensed within the timeline of the grant award. Reviews, analyzes, and researches legislative issues and prepares analysis of the projected effect of any proposed legislation or action. Implements strategic CTE Initiatives that lead to educational improvement and student success in DJJ schools in assigned circuits. Serves as a member of the MQI Review Team to review and monitor indicator 1.20 during residential program MQI visits. Attends Florida Association for Career and Technical Education (FACTE) conferences, and workforce related trainings/workshops to stay current with industry trends. Who We’re Looking For The ideal candidate will have: Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, education, communication or other related fields required. Preference given to candidates with three (3) or more years in teaching and CTE/Industry recognized certification experience. What We Offer We offer more than just a competitive salary of $55,000.00
