This is an

open ONLY to current NC Department of Public Safety’s current employees and eligible RIF candidates. The mission of the State Highway Patrol is to safeguard and preserve the lives and property of the people in North Carolina. This position executes multiple complex HR processes and coordinates work priorities to ensure effective daily operations of the State Highway Patrol Personnel Unit. Additionally, this position provides technical and administrative supervision within the Personnel Unit.
Specific responsibilities related to the Human Resources Technician II include:
Coordinating and overseeing Personnel Unit initiatives, processes, and operations.
Consulting with the Budget Section regarding the management of salary reserves to ensure funding is available to hire and promote employee.
Providing HR training to civilian employees and field operations / sworn members.
Reviewing and resolving complex salary administration issues and time and leave issues for employees and management.
Conducting leave audits and equity studies periodically and upon request.
Ability to utilize office equipment and other relevant technology (software, and systems) to meet work needs.

Experience resolving issues related to Time and Leave, and/or Organizational Management (OM).

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Associate’s degree, typically in Human Resources or relevant field from an appropriately accredited institution and 1 year of experience required;
