Syracuse, NY Position Overview:
We are seeking a Human Resource Coordinator to join our team in our Syracuse, New York, office. This is an in-office position. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future sponsorship. We are unable to consider candidates who require sponsorship now or at any time in the future. We are looking for a detail-oriented and resourceful individual to support the day-to-day operations of our Human Resources function. Reporting to the CFO, the Human Resource Coordinator plays a key role in supporting a happy, healthy, and productive workplace by ensuring smooth administrative processes, accurate employee records, and positive internal communications. The ideal candidate has a strong sense of discretion, is highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. What you’ll be able to do: Provide general HR support to staff and managers. Prepare and maintain HR documentation and personnel files. Provide new and rehire employee onboarding. Perform data entry and updates in HR systems, including Ajera. Process employee status changes (address, compensation, role, etc.). Assist with payroll preparation and updates in coordination with the payroll provider. Enroll employees in benefits programs (health insurance, 401k, HSA, etc.). Support annual company insurance renewals and compliance reporting. Assist with H1-B visa processes and federal/state program paperwork. Complete unemployment, PFML, and WC paperwork. Complete multiple worksite filings, compliance, and OSHA reporting, Coordinate annual training (e.g., anti-harassment). Support company culture activities and events (e.g., company picnic). Provide administrative support to the CFO and owner of the company. Cover the reception desk and front-office duties when needed.
The minimum requirements we seek:
Bachelor’s degree required. SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, and SPHR certifications are preferred but not required. 3 or more years of experience in an HR role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, email platforms, and Internet research. Experience with Ajera software or other ERP/HR systems preferred. Ability to operate standard office equipment including computers, printers, telephones, fax machines, photocopying machines, and postage meters. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple requests and tasks with accuracy and professionalism. Comfortable handling confidential information with discretion.
