Operation Breakthrough strives to support and empower the children’s families through advocacy, referral services and emergency aid. Qualifications A bachelor’s degree and three (3) to five (5) years of Human Resources experience, OR A master’ degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline and two (2) years of experience in the HR field, OR Seven (7) years of experience in the HR field, OR Any similar combination of education and experience Ability and interest in promoting to director level in an 18 month time frame Experience in a non-profit environment a plus Responsibilities Manages the day-to-day operations of Human Resources in non-exempt staffing & on-boarding, Assist with new hire orientation, background and reference checks as needed Coordinates the development of recruitment strategies. May attend recruitment events including career and job fairs, develop partnerships with supporting agencies to increase pool of qualified applicants Lead summer staff recruiting Acts a liaison for benefits communication to employees as needed. Assist candidates and staff members with questions relating to benefits Conducts exit interviews of non-exempt staff Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars as may be required or directed Participates in developing department strategies, objectives and systems. Assists Director of Human Resources in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to creating and implementing goals Notifies Director of Human Resources of any employee relations issues/ concerns that may be identified or presented Maintains compliance with federal, state and Grantee/ Grantor regulations concerning employment Assist Director of HR with company-wide communication on new policies or changes to existing policies, via training events Assists with advising managers about Human Resources matters Performs other related duties as required and/or assigned Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of principles and practices related the Human Resources administration, Effective oral and written communication skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
WORKING CONDITIONS
The work is conducted in an office, education, and child care environment with no disagreeable conditions. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds several times a day. This individual must be able to bend, kneel and squat.
