The Manager, Human Resources

  • Total Rewards is responsible for the strategic and operational management of the organization’s compensation, benefits, leave management, wellness initiatives and HR Systems.

This role ensures that total rewards programs are competitive, compliant, and aligned with organizational goals. The position also includes supervising and mentoring the Senior HR Generalist and HRIS Analyst, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Provide leadership oversight for the HRIS Analyst and Senior HR Generalist. Conduct compensation analyses and provide strategic recommendations. Design and maintain pay structures, grading systems, and Total Compensation Statements. Lead annual compensation and benefits benchmarking and reporting. Explore and evaluate compensation module options for future implementation. Oversee full benefits administration, including plan design, vendor selection, and employee education initiatives. Investigate and resolve discrepancies in benefit invoices; review and authorize vendor payments. Monitor and update EDI feeds, post-open enrollment data, and ongoing benefits processes to ensure accurate and timely transmission to carriers. Serve on the Retirement Plan Committee, representing team member needs and contributing to plan development and oversight. Coordinate 401(k) processes, including loans, compliance, and 401(k) committee documentation. Review and recommend employer contribution strategies. Lead benefit communications and deliver presentations to team members and leadership. Develop tools and materials to enhance understanding of total rewards offerings. Provide guidance to HR team members and managers on compensation and benefits issues2. Collaborate with HR leadership and Finance leadership on strategy, budgeting, and cost containment. Manage vendor relationships and external consultants. Lead the Wellness Program and chair the Wellness Committee, including communications and vendor coordination. Oversee the leave of absence program in partnership with the Senior HR Generalist, ensuring compliance, consistency, and a positive team member experience Lead the leave outsourcing project, including vendor coordination, implementation planning, and integration with internal workflows Maintain functional oversight of HRIS operations, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and system integrity, while delegating day-to-day execution to the HRIS Analyst.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Strong knowledge of HR business processes, employment laws, and HRIS systems. Excellent communication, consultation, facilitation, and project management skills. Proven ability to manage multiple high-priority projects with competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Strong business acumen with the ability to build trust and credibility across all organizational levels. Creative and strategic thinker with strong problem-solving and organizational diagnosis skills. Highly organized with exceptional time and task management capabilities.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or related experience, preferred. 3-5 years of experience in a HR leadership role, required. 2 years of experience in compensation & benefit, required. Familiarity with HR databases, Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), required, Dayforce experience is a plus. Familiarity with I/DD provider agencies, OPWDD, or Health Homes preferred.
