Executive Director Position Summary:

Zinnia Exeter is seeking a compassionate and experienced Human Resources Manager to support our mission of helping individuals recover from substance use disorder. The HR Manager will oversee all aspects of human resources at our treatment facility, ensuring compliance, supporting staff development, managing talent acquisition, and promoting a positive and supportive work culture that aligns with our clinical values and organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities:
Recruitment & Onboarding:

Manage full-cycle recruiting for clinical, administrative, and support roles. Oversee onboarding processes to ensure smooth and compliant integration of new hires. Partner with department leads to anticipate staffing needs and reduce turnover.

Employee Relations:

Serve as a trusted advisor to staff and leadership on HR matters. Conduct investigations and resolve employee issues in a fair and timely manner. Promote an inclusive, trauma-informed workplace culture.

Compliance & HR Policy:

Ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws, licensing standards, and HIPAA. Maintain and update employee handbook and HR policies. Prepare for and support internal and external audits.

Performance Management & Development:

Lead the performance review process and provide coaching to managers. Support training, credentialing, and professional development for all staff.

Payroll & Benefits Administration:

Coordinate with payroll and benefits vendors to ensure timely and accurate processing. Assist employees with benefit-related questions and open enrollment.

HR Reporting & Systems:

Maintain accurate employee records and HRIS data. Produce reports for leadership regarding turnover, staffing levels, and engagement.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred). HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) strongly preferred. Minimum 3-5 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in a healthcare, behavioral health, or substance use disorder setting. Strong knowledge of employment law, healthcare credentialing requirements, and best practices in HR. Excellent communication, conflict resolution, and organizational skills. High level of discretion and professionalism. Passion for working in a mission-driven environment.

Job Type:
Full-time Pay:

$61,440.61 – $73,992.99 per year
