Tallahassee, FL | Local Travel Required (up to 25%) Overview Recovery Opportunity Collective (ROC) is hiring part-time Recovery Guides to walk alongside individuals navigating substance use, mental health challenges, and life transitions. This position is intended for individuals with personal experience in recovery, which is essential to its peer-to-peer support function. This role centers lived experience as a foundation for building trust, offering support, and helping others explore recovery on their own terms. Whether you are already a Certified Recovery Peer Specialist (CRPS) or just beginning your peer support journey, we welcome your application. Candidates must be willing to pursue CRPS certification within one year (support is provided). Responsibilities Meet with participants (virtually or in person) to offer support, resource navigation, and recovery-centered conversation Use your lived experience to build rapport and connection that transcends formal titles Support participants in building motivation, problem-solving, and identifying their own values and direction to build and sustain a recovery plan Represent ROC at community events, outreach efforts, and recovery group meetings Assist with facilitation or co-facilitation of support groups (SMART Recovery, Recovery Dharma, and All-Recovery – training provided) Maintain consistent communication with the ROC team. Maintain detailed documentation Administer assessment tools Participate in regular supervision and peer development Local travel required (mileage reimbursed) Qualifications Willingness to pursue CRPS certification within 12 months (if not already certified) Ability to pass a Level 2 background check (past offenses will not automatically disqualify candidates) Consistent, reliable, and able to maintain participant confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA Open to learning new skills, including basic documentation, digital communication, and group facilitation Preferred but Not Required CRPS certification ($19/hour if certified, $17/hour if not) Previous experience in outreach, peer support, or recovery groups Comfort with tools like Zoom, Google Workspace, or Canva What We Offer Flexible part-time schedule Ongoing mentorship and professional development Training in multiple recovery models and frameworks Opportunities to grow within a mission-driven and values-based organization
