Work that consists of monitoring and directly serving students from populations that impact retention and graduation metrics. Administer placement tests and provide the results to the different student services areas and academic units. In addition to assisting the Academic Advisor in the execution of the activities contained in the retention work plan. AGM University serves a diverse student population, offering bilingual education to the community for traditional and non-traditional students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 1.
Administer placement test, record the results in the available technological tool and provide the results to the different areas of student services and academic areas. 2. Collaborate with the Retention Coordinator in the analysis of standardized test results (CEEB, SAT) and placement tests to meet effective placement in the enrollment of new students in skills courses. 3. Provide follow-up for tutoring services to students referred by faculty, in coordination with the Academic Advisor. 4. Keep the records of the students served up to date and document the interventions carried out in the technological tools available. 5. Assist and advise students on the guidelines, procedures, use of equipment and management of technological programs and tools available at the institution for student success. 6. Offer workshops related to the technological tools available for the academic success of students. 7. Provide guidance and monitoring (Onboarding Process) to new entry students (on ground, by phone, and via email) prior to the start of classes, in coordination with the Director of Retention. 8. Participate in the recruitment and training of tutors. 9. Carry out the course selection process for the enrollment of students from the identified populations. 10. Manage and refer to the different service units the situations identified in the follow-up process. 11. Collaborate in monitoring students at risk, non-traditional populations, and those referred by faculty through available technological tools. 12. Perform data entry into the available electronic tools of the services offered by the faculty advisors of the academic divisions, as assigned. 13. Document the interventions and activities carried out with students using available technological resources. 14. Write and present general and statistical reports that are required on the fulfillment of the academic activity of the students in the courses and grades. 15. Fulfill with the provisions of the Mechanized Attendance Registration Policy and the Performance Evaluation System
REQUIREMENTS 1.
Bachelor’s degree in education, Social Services, Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related fields required. 2. Two (2) years of related work experience required. 3. Ability to express himself/herself effectively, verbally and in writing, in Spanish and English. 4. Computer competency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel. 5. Excellent interpersonal and team building skills. 6. Be committed to a high level of confidentiality. 7. Ability to develop and maintain positive, professional relationships. 8. Highly organized and able to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. 9. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with personnel and clients. Strong leadership skills and able to work in a team environment with a diverse community.
