Summary of Job Duties:

The Workforce Trainer reports directly to the Director of Workforce Development. The Workforce Trainer should possess a well-rounded skill set in industrial machining, maintenance mechanics/advanced manufacturing of various types, as well as a thorough knowledge of accepted safety practices. This position is a part-time position with a flexible schedule, as evening and weekend work may be required to meet industry needs.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

Establish and maintain working relationships with industry partners. Interact with business/industry leaders to assess training needs. Develop and facilitate trainings, within areas of expertise, targeted to the manufacturing industry, regional, and/or state needs. This may include short-term, non-credit, customized, or academic courses. Evaluate and provide feedback to trainees and companies throughout the training program. Recruit students into the program and seek out potential funding sources for tuition assistance, where appropriate. Evaluate and maintain program equipment, training resources, and lab space. Prepare students through both in-class theory and hands-on skills instruction, including real-world scenario training. Maintain student files, records, grades, attendance, and other as required in compliance with appropriate UACCM, state, and/or federal policies, processes, and reporting standards. Participate as a member of a team to improve program and processes. Performs other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum of seven (7) years related advanced manufacturing industry experience. Licenses and certification specific to advanced manufacturing industry. Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of the minimum qualifications upon approval of the Chancellor.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Prior experience as a trainer in industry. Experience in additional industry areas. Associates credentials or higher.
