Personal Support Specialist Maine Home Care Penobscot County, ME Personal Support Specialist Position Overview:

Are you looking for a rewarding career helping the community? Come join the Maine Home Care team as one of our Personal Support Specialists (PSS). We are looking for full-time and part-time employees to assist our clients with daily living tasks. We typically schedule between 6am and 9pm, no overnights required. You have the flexibility to work a few hours a week or up to 40 hours, depending on your preference. The hourly rate is between $15 and $18 an hour depending on experience, weekly availability, certifications, and willingness to travel. Personal Support Specialists are expected to drive to client’s homes in the community, working with them one-on-one to assist with the following tasks:

    Personal Care:

    Bathing/Showering, assistance toileting, help dressing, and grooming.

      Light Cleaning:

      Washing dishes, dusting, sweeping/mopping floors, laundry, cleaning bathrooms, changing bed linens, taking out the trash ect.

      • Grocery Shopping
      • Provide Companionship
      • Preparing Meals and Snacks Personal Support Specialists will utilize an app that assists with your weekly schedule, tracks daily documentation, details your client’s information, and provides a list of daily activities to complete with your client.

      Our employees can track all this information right on their cell phone to provide quality care in the community. Additionally, we take our employees’ safety very seriously, we have a 20-pound weight lift limit while working. Are you Uncertified? No Problem! Maine Home Care will pay for and enroll you into an online Personal Support Specialist program upon hire (Conditions Apply). Uncertified employees will receive support from the office to complete the Personal Support Specialist Course to become state certified. Certification must be completed within the first 9 months of hire per state guidelines.

      Great Work/Life Balance Requirements:
      • Active Drivers License
      • Caregiving experience preferred, but not required. We have a wonderful training program in place to ensure top quality care! Employees must have a sympathetic and caring attitude towards clients to ensure effective care.
      • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism during all interactions with clients, family, office staff, ect.
