This role is vital in enhancing the quality of life for clients, particularly those residing in retirement homes, personal care homes, or those with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to providing exceptional care and support, ensuring the well-being and dignity of each individual. Duties Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients. Monitor and record vital signs as needed, ensuring any changes are reported to healthcare professionals. Prepare and serve nutritious meals according to dietary requirements. Assist with medication reminders and ensure proper administration as directed by healthcare providers. Support clients with dementia care by engaging them in meaningful activities that promote cognitive function. Help maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients. Collaborate with family members and healthcare teams to develop personalized care plans tailored to individual needs. Qualifications Previous experience in home care, long-term care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is preferred. Knowledge of basic health care practices, including vital signs monitoring. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members. Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others. Ability to handle physical tasks associated with personal care assistance. Familiarity with systems used in personal care homes or retirement facilities is a plus. Certification or training in personal care assistance or related fields is advantageous but not required.
