Direct Care Worker (annville) Watching Over Us Home Care llc Annville, PA Job Overview As a Direct Care Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, and other needs. You will assist clients in their daily activities, promote their independence, and ensure their well-being in various settings such as nursing homes or home care environments. Duties Provide personal care assistance including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Assist with medications as prescribed while adhering to HIPAA regulations. Support clients with daily living activities and encourage independence. Assist with mobility and lifting of clients as needed. Maintain a safe and clean environment for residents. Document care provided and report any changes in client condition to the appropriate personnel. Uphold resident rights and ensure dignity and respect in all interactions. Engage clients in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being. Skills Proficient in medication administration and understanding of related protocols. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to maintain client confidentiality. Experience working in Home Health Care or similar care setting is preferred. Familiarity with care techniques for individuals with developmental disabilities. Ability to lift clients safely and assist them with mobility challenges. Experience or training in dementia care practices is beneficial. Strong understanding of elderly rights and advocacy principles. Ability to work effectively within various systems to coordinate care.
