Dog Walker, Hiker, Runner, and Caregiver Paramount Pet Care Wilkes-Barre, PA Overview We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Walker to join our team. This role is perfect for animal lovers who enjoy spending time outdoors and have a strong commitment to providing excellent care for dogs. As a Dog Walker, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of the dogs in your care while providing them with exercise and companionship. Duties Walk dogs of various sizes and breeds, ensuring they receive adequate exercise and socialization. Monitor dogs during walks to ensure their safety and well-being. Maintain control of the dogs at all times, using proper leash techniques. Communicate with pet owners regarding their dog’s behavior and any concerns that may arise during walks. Provide basic training reinforcement as needed, including commands like sit, stay, and heel. Keep records of each walk, noting any relevant information about the dog’s behavior or health. Ensure that all pet waste is cleaned up during walks to maintain a clean environment. Build strong relationships with both dogs and their owners through excellent customer service. Requirements Previous experience in pet care, such as veterinary technician, kennel staff, or dog training is preferred. Strong understanding of animal behavior and ability to handle various breeds safely. Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate with pet owners. Ability to manage multiple dogs at once while maintaining focus on their safety. Physical stamina to walk for extended periods and handle energetic dogs. Knowledge of basic dog training techniques is a plus. Experience in related fields such as equine care or animal restraint can be beneficial.
