Job Responsibilities:

Tocompetently provide housing information and referral services for

HIV/AIDS

consumers To provide support services to assist programparticipants concerning locating and accessing safe, affordable housingTo provide assistance to program participants completing housingapplications or various related paperwork in a timely manner To arrangefor appropriate services to assist program participants in maintainingindependent living, such as budgeting, accessing parenting skillstraining, or other skills’ guidance, etc., suitable to the clientsindividual situation To provide outreach services to assist programparticipants in using and accessing needed community housing services,including arranging or providing transportation To provide or ensurethat English/Spanish written and/or verbal interpretation forSpanish-speaking clients of all ages and their families/significantothers is provided when necessary To competently provide or arrange tohave education provided to program participants and families/significantothers concerning

HIV/AIDS

transmission and risk reduction in accordancewith appropriate age-related guidelines To maintain an updated caseloadspreadsheet to ensure that annual assessment, annual inspections and anyother task with a deadline is done within the appropriate time frame Toassistant in maintaining a library of educational materials for theprogram by working with

HIV/AIDS

community resources and other availableinstructional resources To work at multiple sites serviced by theprogram To organize and maintain accurate client records, in accordancewith RVCC procedures, requirements of any applicable funding source, andappropriate regulatory guidelines. Assist Supervisor with reports andprogram audits to funders as needed. To advocate for and provide supportto individuals and families To conduct annual apartment inspections toensure that clients in program subsidized units are living in safe andsanitary conditions according to HUD guidelines To maintain housingdatabase current by inputting client information monthly whilecompleting annual assessments in a timely manner

Job Requirements:

Education Level•High School or GED Years of Experience•6 monthsworking with

HIV/AIDS

infected or affected clients or underservedpopulations, including housing searches, negotiations, and relatedsupport activities Skills/Abilities•Bilingual (English/Spanish)required. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; negotiatingskills; good memory for names and locations; knowledge of the localgeographic area; recordkeeping skills; organizational skills; attentionto detail; ability to work independently; computer and clerical skills;good customer relations skills; ability to handle multiple tasks;ability to relate well to people of all ages and their family members;knowledge of learning principles applicable to different ages andculturally diverse backgrounds; knowledge of available communityhousing, transportation, and educational resources available for

HIV/AIDS

individuals and families and underserved populations; abilityto deal calmly with any special or emergency situation that may developwith a client Licensing•None required
