Victim Advocate The Hope Center, Inc Athens, TN 37303 Job Summary The Victim Advocate plays a crucial role in providing support and assistance to individuals affected by crime or trauma. This position involves working closely with with the non-offending caregiver of children who are survivors of violence to ensure they receive the necessary resources, guidance, and emotional support. The ideal candidate will possess strong case management skills. Responsibilities Provide emotional support and crisis intervention. Assist clients during the process of investigation, including understanding their rights and available resources. Collaborate with law enforcement, legal professionals, and social services to advocate for the needs of victims. Conduct assessments to identify the specific needs of families. Develop and implement safety plans for victims at risk. Facilitate access to counseling services, shelters, and other community resources. Maintain accurate records of client interactions and case progress. Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance advocacy skills and knowledge of relevant laws. Experience College degree and/or 3 years experience in a relevant field. Experience in crisis management, conflict management, and crisis intervention is a plus. Background in social work or behavioral health is preferred. Familiarity with child protective services and child welfare systems is highly desirable. Experience working with children and families in a supportive capacity is a plus. Strong communication skills with the ability to empathize with diverse populations. Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
