Type :
Hybrid; In-person for team meetings, trainings, and community events VOX ATL is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the role of Outreach Coordinator. This position is responsible for supporting and nurturing community partnerships and overseeing the training and deployment of youth and VOX community outreach facilitators. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the Executive Director, Program Director, and other team members to support community outreach activities and published products.
Job Duties:
External Partnerships Identify, establish, nurture, and evaluate program partnerships with community organizations, schools, and other relevant entities that advance VOX ATL’s mission and strategic plan Schedule, coordinate and attend outreach events, programs, and activities to increase VOX ATL’s presence in the metro-Atlanta community and advance VOX ATL’s annual plan Serve as a liaison between VOX ATL and external program partners to ensure effective communication and collaboration Bring high-quality youth-development practices to each external partner activity, and ensure VOX ATL media release is secured for all partner activities Add, update, and track partner information in
VOX ATL CRM
database Support program reporting (e.g. for funders and annual impact report) Community Outreach Develop and implement community outreach strategies to engage with diverse audiences and advance VOX ATL’s reach Plan and execute outreach events, including but not limited to tabling, workshops, presentations, and informational sessions to promote VOX ATL’s programs, increase teens’ voices in publishing Attend community events to represent and promote VOX ATL, and actively participate in networking opportunities Earned Revenue Partner with VOX’s Executive Director and Digital Media Specialist to secure and manage client projects for VOX Studios, our commissioned content team Serve as the liaison for commissioned content projects to ensure effective project management and communication as well as quality youth engagement Ensure that earned income strategies maximize partnerships for mutual benefit, defined as deepening VOX ATL’s reach and leveraging VOX ATL’s tools and platforms to help build partners’ capacities Teen Engagement Recruit, train, and supervise teen community outreach facilitators Develop and maintain a schedule for accompanying and deploying teen facilitators to various community events and outreach opportunities Maintain and organize all materials and supplies, including media equipment, needed for each outreach activity Support teens onsite in outreach activities approximately 2- 4 times a month, including ensuring transportation plans and media releases as needed Provide ongoing support and mentorship to teen facilitators to ensure their success in representing VOX ATL, including providing recommendations or referrals Maintain ongoing learning in best practices in youth development relevant to VOX ATL Maintain training in youth mental health first aid and trauma-informed practices Collaboration Partner with VOX ATL program team to develop engaging and relevant activities for the community and ensure teens curate media content effectively for publication Coordinate outreach activities schedules and logistics in collaboration with VOX ATL program leads to ensure successful implementation Collect, organize, and report feedback and data to assess the impact of workshops and outreach activities Support additional VOX ATL all-staff programs and events, such as annual fundraisers, community forums and new member orientations Generate new business through commissioned content as outlined in the earned revenue strategy Qualifications /
Required Experience Required :
Must have access to reliable transportation and have the ability to transport outreach materials and supplies to community events Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 3+ years work experience in community outreach, partnership development, or related roles Strong knowledge of media education and journalism, including demonstrated video production, video editing, writing, reporting, fact-checking and editing skills Ability to simplify complex and technical media information using interactive practices and techniques • Experience with the Adobe Creative Suite, including editing video, and audio content using Adobe Premiere and Adobe Audition Exceptional organizational and project management skills Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills Experience ability to work collaboratively and independently Demonstrated experience with MS Office and Google suite applications, Internet research, high comfort level with computers, and learning new software programs (knowledge of both Macintosh & PC platforms is a plus) Must be able to juggle multiple tasks and “switch gears,” including engaging youth and adult constituents Must be highly motivated and self-directed with excellent time-management skills, as well as comfortable working in a fun, youth-led team environment • Work at least 40 hours per week Monday – Friday; Saturday as needed Desired (Training can be provided): Experience facilitating activities with teens Experience in journalism/media making/communications is a plus Experience with at least one nonprofit organization (may be volunteer or work), preferably with youth/teens The Outreach Coordinator reports to VOX’s Executive Director and works with the Outreach team and the VOX ATL adult staff for all day-to-day work. This person also serves as a mentor and advocate to teens. All staff must be willing to work independently and as a team, and take initiative with new programs and challenges. Schedule & Compensation Hybrid work schedule, Monday – Friday in-office schedule at our downtown program office. May include required evening and Saturday work, allows for flexibility outside of program hours
Salary:
$50,000 -$55,000
