Job Objectives of the Children’s Ministry Director (CD) are to: Cast vision for Children’s Ministries within the greater ministry vision of TCC as laid out by the Senior Minister to, support, and collaborate with the Family Minister, who provides oversight and support for all of Children’s Ministries (Pre-K
- Grade 5)
Provide support and collaborate with the part-time Pre-K teacher who directly reports to the Family Minister
Build a biblical worldview into K - Grade 5 children by teaching them to know, love, and integrate the teachings of Scripture in their own lives
Articulate the Gospel in theologically sound and creative (age-appropriate) ways
Raise up K - Grade 5 children to participate in all aspects of worship at TCC as a multi-generational, worshippingmunity
Actively disciple and foster spiritual growth for the children and providemunication to parents/guardians for further development
Articulate and demonstrate sound doctrine in practice as outlined in the protestant, orthodox tradition (see tccwayland)
Build trust and relationship with both the children individually and their parents Job Responsibilities of the CD are to: Grow, develop, and execute K•Grade 5 weekly curriculum and programming (e.
g. Sunday mornings, Wednesday nights)
Lead teach K
- Grade 5 large group programming on Sunday mornings as a redemptive-historical movement (OT Foundations to NT Fulfillment)
Coordinate the special events for the children through the church year (e.
g. Discover Deep Freeze retreat, Kid’s Week, etc.)
Coordinate the children’s role in special churchwide events (e.g. Christmas Play, Family Fun Day, Family Camp, etc.)
Together with the Family Minister, help vet, train, and equip Children’s Ministries volunteers (e.g. small group leaders, children’s church worship leaders, etc.)
Manage the schedule, rotation, andmunication with Children’s Ministries volunteers
Monthly update the Children’s Ministries liaison to the Board on ministry activities and events for the children
Provide weeklymunication with parents / guardians and keep the newsletter updated

Yielded to the Spirit in their daily lives and manner of conduct, at home and in public, demonstrating the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23)
Submitted to discipleship, actively seeks impartation from mature believers and can receive correction
Prioritizes discipleship in the way of Jesus, having a love for children and able to lead in gentleness and peace
In agreement with all the doctrines and teachings of TCC
Cleared to serve with a background check
Submitted to taking all training rmended by the Family Minister
Submitted to meeting with counselor for staff mental health
Diligent, not distracted, seeking to please God in the good work laid out for them
Engaged in spiritual disciplines / practices in their personal life (e.
g. prayer, bible study, worship, etc.)
- Those who would serve in this critical, leadership role at TCC need to reflect the character qualities of a disciple of Jesus Christ as outlined in Scripture since children learn primarily from observation and mimicry and only secondarily from what is said.
Half-time (20-25 hrs.) non-exempt:
While the position is technically 20 hours per week, the responsibilities entrusted to half-time ministry employees at TCC sometimes requires a greater hourlymitment. As non-exempt, hourly employees, these extra hours will bepensated to the CD when required, but the CD must have a designated, weekly Sabbath in which no TCC work is to be done.
Working Relationships:
The CD leads, supports, and collaborates with the part-time Pre-K Teacher in all church programs and events w Pre-K through Grade 5 is involved but does not oversee or receive reports from the Pre-K Teacher regarding the Sunday Pre-K program. The CD reports and answers to the Family Minister, their liaison to the board, and the Senior Minister.
