Job Summary:

The Psychiatric Social Worker is a member of aninterdisciplinary team who provides direct assessment, diagnosisformulation, treatment planning, treatment intervention andpsycho-education to members and/or family members. Must be familiarwith all aspects of psychopathology and recognize the appropriateand timely clinical treatment intervention needed. The PsychiatricSocial Worker may work with specific age group as is determined bytraining and certificate. Must be familiar with and have expertisein a variety of treatment modalities. The majority of the positionwill be spent in direct patient care.

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Competencies:
  • Timely and appropriate assessment, diagnosis,treatment planning and treatment intervention of members.
  • Appropriate selection of treatment modality to members presentingproblem.
  • Is an effective communicator of clinical material tomember and clinical staff
  • Provides high internal and externalcustomer/patient satisfaction.
  • Demonstrates expertise in avariety of treatment methodologies.
  • Provides appropriate andtimely documentation of clinical encounters in members charts.
  • Isknowledgeable of KP and community resources.
  • Adheres to allmandated guidelines for patients clinical care and license.
  • Maintains license.
  • Conduct initial interview with Members byeliciting and interpreting the psychological and social meaning ofcomplaints.
  • Determines urgency of members need.
  • Provides aprofessional interpretation of members presentation and recommendsa course of therapeutic action, selects appropriate treatmentmodality.
  • Provides treatment to adults, adolescents and children
  • Renders appropriate and immediate guidance & therapy for membersin crisis or in need of clinical services.
  • Maintains writtenrecord of therapy, prepares reports and letter; phones, writes andvisits (with member permission) social agencies, schools relatives,friends to obtain pertinent information.
  • Provides clinicalconsultation in an integrated health care environment regardingfamily interactions, sociocultural determinants and communityresources.
  • Provides telephone assessment, counseling, resourceinformation and referrals.
  • Proficient in identifying and treatingthe span of developmental stages.
  • Proficient in various treatmentmodalities including, but not limited to individual, group family χld therapy.
  • Complies with organizational, departmental,state/federal guidelines & all regulatory agency policies andprocedures.
  • Participates in
QM & CQI

activities.

BasicQualifications:

Experience

  • Two (2) years of post graduate mentalhealth therapy experience within the last five (5) years required.

Education

  • Masters degree in a Social Work, Psychology, Sociologyor other field related to behavioral health required. License,Certification, Registration
  • Licensed Marriage and FamilyTherapist (California) OR Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor(California) OR Licensed Clinical Social Worker (California)
  • National Provider Identifier Additional Requirements:
  • Knowledgeof and ability to utilize current DSM nomenclature required.
  • Consistently demonstrates the knowledge, skills, abilities, andbehaviors necessary to provide superior and culturally sensitiveservice to each other, to our members, and to customers, contractedproviders, and vendors.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • N/A Notes:
  • Ideal candidate for this role has experience working with all agesand an emphasis in Pediatric ages. Lifespan and EBP experiencepreferred.
  • This is a Case Manager role.

A minimum of 1 eveningshift is required. Responsibilities can be changed based ondepartment needs.
