Social Worker Social Worker Position Description:
Provide social services and assistance to improve the social and psychological functioning of children and families. Develop individual self-sufficiency plans which will help fathers become emotionally involved and financially responsible for their children.

Non-Exempt, Fulltime Duties, Functions and Responsibilities:
Essential duties may include the following. Other related duties may be assigned. Completes a social assessment, which includes personal interviews as well as collection of secondary information to complete an individualized plan for self-sufficiency and responsible fatherhood. Assists participants in overcoming barriers through intervention, advocacy, and referrals With the support of the individual, identifies achievable goals, barriers, provides support and counsel to participants achieving identified goals Facilitates peer and family support groups, including the development and selection of topics and programs and securing outside guest speakers Completes police and abuse record checks Assists in administering the FFSC fatherhood curriculum and expands fatherhood knowledge in the FFSC classroom and Father’s Rap sessions On-going case management including maintaining weekly contact with graduates for at least one year after graduation to monitor achievement of program goals Documents individual records and forms to provide accurate and timely tracking of information Develops and maintains network of community resources and social support systems, as necessary, to assist individuals and their children/families to move to self-sufficiency Review and possess a working knowledge of all programs, forms, and grants related to your duties Must be able to work flexible schedule, some evenings, and required 6 Saturday events per year. Mandatory to attend all staff and department meetings, participant graduations, and bonding events.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be culturally competent in working with men who need maximum direction regarding responsible fatherhood issues Must have effective verbal and written communications skills Must be able to utilize agency and community resources to meet goals Must be able to organize and present information Must be able to multitask Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills Must be team oriented and be able to work independently Must understand and practice the NASW code of ethics Must be familiar with
MS Office Suite Educational and Experience Requirements:
Minimum requirement is a BSW or related degree in Human Services; MSW preferred Must have experience in working with at-risk populations and prior work with group facilitation, individuals and/or family coaching Must have competence in working with men who need direction as it relates to relates to responsible fatherhood issues
Other:
Must possess a valid Missouri drivers license and have a reliable, insured vehicle
