Report to assigned school, provide on-site therapeuticservices to students, complete notes/documentation, supportstudents and families Overview BJC Behavioral Health is a communityhealth center that provides and coordinates behavioral healthservices for more than 8,000 seriously mentally ill adults andseriously emotionally disturbed children in St. Louis City, St.
Louis County, St. François, Iron and Washington counties. As anAdministrative Agent of the Missouri Department of Mental Health(DMH), BJC Behavioral Health serves as a major point of entry forpeople eligible for mental health services funded by DMH and isresponsible for serving as gatekeeper to the public mental healthsystem. Kirkwood Mental Health Services provides a licensedclinical social worker or licensed professional counselor through acontract between Kirkwood School District and BJC BehavioralHealth, to serve students pre-K through Grade 12. Services includeanger Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Responsible forproviding case management services to maximize opportunitiesavailable to children exhibiting emotional disturbances in theassigned embedded school district(s). Responsibilities
- Completestimely documentation of services that clearly describe the need forthe service, the intervention provided, the relationship to thetreatment plan, the provider of the service, the date, the actualtime and setting of the service, and the individual’s response tothe service.
- Identifies, screens and refers children exhibitingemotional disturbances. Plans and implements appropriate academicand /or educational supports. Coordinates referral of children andfamilies to community service agencies as appropriate for themental health needs of the child. Consults with school staff and/orparents regarding the social/emotional/behavioral needs ofchildren.
- Provides resources to school staff and/or parentsregarding characteristics, intervention and treatment of disorders.
Consults with school staff regarding classroom and/or school wideapproaches to behavior to develop positive behavior supports andinterventions. Provides school staff development on topics such aspositive behavior supports and intervention, prevention ofviolence, crisis planning and intervention, etc.
- Conductsfunctional behavior assessments and/or social skills instruction.
Measures progress and improvement of assigned children. Implementsinterventions for students with chronic behavioral and emotionalneeds.
- Provides small group and/or individual counseling for suchissues as social skills, anger control, etc.
to assigned children.
Minimum Requirements Education
- Master’s Degree
- Human Servicesor related Experience
- 2-5 years Supervisor Experience
- NoExperience Licenses & Certifications
- Valid Driver’s License
