The ENGAGE program is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Team Lead to support adolescents and young adults experiencing first-episode psychosis (including hearing things, seeing things, having paranoid thoughts). This role involves supervising an innovative, multidisciplinary team, providing clinical services and leading community outreach efforts to schools, colleges, and organizations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals diagnosed with conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, drug-induced psychosis, and major depression. Job Purpose/Summary:
The Team Leader
- Engage holds responsibility for services, including the direct service and nonservice activity that may be performed by staff, such as reporting and tasks required for billing.
The incumbent works independently and as a member of a team. The position will provide extensive outreach and marketing to schools and colleges, as well as organizations and community groups outside of behavioral health.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
- Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or a related field with appropriate licenses OR
- Psychiatric Nurse with appropriate licenses
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years of progressively responsible experience in social services working with either the adolescent or and/or transition age populations.
- 1 year of supervisory experience preferred .
Licenses, Certifications & Clearances:
- LPC or LCSW
- Act 33/34 Clearances
- FBI Clearance
- Valid State of PA Class 1 Drivers License
- Access to properly insured motor vehicle for client transportation and fieldwork and a safe driving record

Mental Illness and Substance Abuse Requirements:

- Provides leadership, including planning, directing, and influencing the work of others.
- Develops and accomplishes goals and objectives, as well as continually evaluates to ensure that services are delivered in an effective and culturally competent manner.
- Arranges staff coverage sufficient to maintain responsive services, designs and improves processes that continuously improve service, auditing records, and other documents for accuracy and timely completion to meet requirements, prepares information and reports for internal management and control using a management information system, assists staff in assuring that resources (e.
g., equipment, supplies, etc.) are available and adequate.
- Addresses all instances of fraud, waste, and/or abuse and proactively looks for ways to prevent instances of fraud, waste, and abuse in the service delivery system and work systems of the agency as described in the agency Compliance Plan.
- Recruits and interviews qualified applicants for employment, orients, continuously trains, and coaches staff, communicates and monitors performance and productivity standards, appraises performance, implements a staff development plan that enhances service, and supervises the work of assigned staff, contractors, and/or the learning experience of students and interns.
- Assures that staff meet funding source requirements, monitors productivity, authorizations, no shows and cancellations, income, and expenditures as appropriate to the services, and assesses, monitors, and revises service delivery processes to assure payment for services.
- Monitors the progress and outcomes of each service contract and financial source documents that ensure adequate income, and works with the Budget Manager in the development of the budget.
- Develops a marketing plan that will include extensive outreach and marketing to high schools, colleges, the private psychiatric community, inpatient psychiatric units, the primary care physician (PCP) community, and behavioral health centers.
- Develops and communicates knowledge of the agency’s services, provides relevant information to assigned staff, establishes and works on cross-functional Mission, Vision, Philosophy (MVP) teams, encourages the appropriate use of agency services through intra agency referrals and active participation in collaborative service efforts, and may propose innovations that strengthen the agency’s services.
- Reads, attends appropriate conferences, and takes initiative to be informed of developments and changes in the field, results of recent studies, national standards, and activities of similar organizations.
- Systematically screens consumers for depression and unhealthy substance use by utilizing evidence-based screening instruments that are appropriate for the population.
- Utilizes a variety of educational materials, brief intervention techniques, and community resources to engage and increase consumer motivation to manage their chronic behavioral and medical conditions.
- Utilizes standardized intervention techniques and community resources to support consumers in achieving their goals.
- Promotes shared decision-making and supervises a team of specialists who work with consumers to create a personal treatment plan.
- Establishes a relapse prevention plan and follow-up schedule with consumers, monitoring consumers’ progress throughout the maintenance phase.
- Clearly and effectively communicates with the collaborative care team and specialty providers via written, electronic, and oral reports.
- Maintains an accurate and up-to-date registry of all consumers.
