Job Title:

Substance Use & Mental Health Counselor (Assessor)

Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled counselor to provide therapeutic services for clients dealing with substance use and/or mental health challenges on an assessment. This individual will be primarily conducting assessments and follow up calls (3 required) to link clients to appropriate level of care. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals, helping them access resources and navigate their recovery journey.

Schedule:

Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver individual and group counseling in alignment with state and agency guidelines. Educate clients about available benefits, community resources, and services. Monitor clients for signs of intoxication and withdrawal, providing treatment as necessary. Offer crisis interventions when required. Ensure clients have access to necessary medical, psychological, and psychiatric services. Conduct psychosocial assessments and provide ongoing evaluations. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess clients’ physical and mental health needs. Develop, monitor, and update personalized recovery plans. Manage client admissions, transitions, and discharges, including securing necessary authorizations. Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations. Facilitate psychoeducation and family therapy groups. Provide education and support to family members involved in clients’ recovery. Participate in quality assurance and peer review activities. Offer supervision and training to interns as assigned. Administer medications and perform screenings as needed. Ensure adherence to professional standards and ethical guidelines.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in human services or a related field (preferred); equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.

One of the following required:
LCAS, LCAS-A, LCSW, LCSWA, LCMHC, LCMHCA, LMFT, LMFT-A

Dual license preferred Valid NC or SC Driver’s License required.
