Purpose:

As a Therapist at The Jewish Board, you’ll provide comprehensive mental health and social services to your clients and their families with compassion and expertise. You’ll assess client needs, develop treatment plans, provide counseling, and connect clients with community resources. You will also collaborate with healthcare professionals throughout the agency and with external partners to ensure holistic care for the client. Crucially, you’ll help deliver on The Jewish Board’s mandate to provide clinically sophisticated outpatient care to our clients, using cutting-edge, evidence-based, integrated treatment models, all while benefitting from robust clinical and administrative support.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivering outstanding care to your clients Conduct assessments to determine clients’ social, emotional, and financial needs, including current functioning and barriers to engagement, and identify appropriate interventions to manage risk and render mental health and substance abuse diagnoses. These assessments may incorporate external sources of information, including client reports and family/caregiver perspectives. Develop and implement individualized, person-centered treatment plans using evidence-based models when appropriate. Provide individual, group, and family counseling. Deliver in-person and telehealth crisis intervention and support, depending on client needs. Coordinate with other mental health and social service agencies and non-agency providers, including shelters, schools, and the justice system, to coordinate client care. Refer clients to community resources and support services. Advocate for clients’ needs within the healthcare system. Supporting client care through operational excellence Participate in clinical meetings, staff meetings, trainings, and supervision. Work with the scheduling team to ensure timely initial and follow-up client appointments. Maintain minimum caseload per agency guidelines while achieving productivity targets. Complete annual trainings in evidence-based interventions and effectively incorporate the evidence-based techniques learned into client care. Ensure accurate and up-to-date client records and other documentation according to the standards and time frames established by The Jewish Board, regulatory agencies, and/or funding sources. Demonstrate the professional behaviors and ethical standards established by the licensing board, relevant professional association, and The Jewish Board’s policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Applicants must have at least one of the following: Licensed Master Social Work (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) certification, Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), and Licensed Creative Arts Therapist (LCAT). A limited permit will be considered, but the applicant must pass the appropriate licensing exam within 6 months of the start date. Strong understanding of social work principles and practices. Skilled in treating both mental health and substance abuse disorders. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems. Knowledge of community resources and services.
