Chasing Connections is excited to announce an opportunity for a compassionate and adaptable Newborn Nanny to join a wonderful family in a long-term role. We are looking for an exceptional individual who can embrace flexibility in scheduling and go with the flow while working alongside a hands-on mother who is deeply involved in her baby’s care. This position requires a true team player-a “unicorn” ready to grow with the family and become an integral part of their lives.
Key Responsibilities:
Newborn Care Experience:
2-3 years of direct experience caring for newborns (0-6 months). Knowledge of infant developmental milestones, feeding cues, sleep patterns, and soothing techniques. Proficiency in bottle feeding (formula and/or expressed breast milk), burping, and recognizing reflux or colic. Current Infant CPR and First Aid Certification.
Flexible Availability:
Willingness to work a variable schedule, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and on-call or short-notice care. Ability to accommodate a changing weekly schedule.
Clear Background and Reference Checks:
Clean criminal background check (preferably through a nanny agency). Clean driving record. 2-3 verifiable references from families with newborns.
Legal Work Status:
Authorized to work in the U.S. with necessary documentation. Passport ready, available for potential travel with the family. -Willing to be paid on the books, if required.
Newborn-Specific Skills:
Familiarity with safe sleep practices (per AAP guidelines) and knowledge of popular newborn sleep philosophies. Comfortable handling breast milk, sterilizing bottles, managing pumping schedules, and addressing formula preparation/bottle refusal issues. Expertise in diapering, skin care, rash prevention, and gentle bathing practices.
Household and Organizational Skills:
Light housekeeping related to the baby, including laundry, sanitizing bottles and toys, and maintaining an organized nursery. Clear communication with parents regarding the baby’s patterns and concerns.
Multi-Tasking & Independence:
Ability to manage baby care independently and take control when the mother is out, soothing the baby as needed and adapting to family routines.

Punctual and dependable, accommodating occasional overnights or last-minute changes.
Emotional Intelligence & Patience:
Calm under pressure and able to build trust with both parents and the baby.
Communication Skills:
Provides timely updates (texts/photos/notes) and is open to feedback while maintaining discretion and confidentiality.
Health-Conscious:
Knowledgeable about hygiene and illness prevention for newborns. Comfortable traveling with the family, both domestically and internationally. The ideal candidate will have experience working with infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development through engaging activities. This role requires a proactive individual who can assist with meal preparation, maintain cleanliness in the play areas, and support children with special needs if necessary. Duties Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities to promote learning and development. Provide attentive care for infants and toddlers, including diaper changes, feeding, and nap time. Prepare nutritious meals and snacks while accommodating any dietary restrictions. Maintain a clean and organized environment by tidying up play areas and ensuring toys are sanitized. Assist with homework or educational activities for preschool-aged children. Implement routines that support children’s daily schedules, including playtime, meals, and bedtime. Communicate effectively with parents regarding children’s progress and any concerns that may arise. Be prepared to respond to emergencies by utilizing first aid skills when necessary. Requirements Proven experience in babysitting or nannying with children 0-6 months old with references available upon request. Knowledge of first aid and CPR techniques is highly desirable. Experience working with children of various ages, particularly infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. Ability to prepare healthy meals while considering children’s preferences and dietary needs. Strong organizational skills to maintain a clean environment conducive to child development. Patience and understanding when working with children, including those with disabilities or special needs.
