Hospice Chaplain/Bereavement Coordinator 2.6 2.6 out of 5 stars Marietta, GA Job Summary The Chaplain serves as a spiritual leader and support system within the organization, providing compassionate care to individuals and families, grief, and transition. This role involves offering bereavement support, facilitating spiritual guidance, and fostering a nurturing environment for emotional healing. The Chaplain will work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic care is provided to patients and their families. Responsibilities Provide spiritual care and support to patients and families in hospice settings, addressing emotional and spiritual needs. Conduct religious services, rituals, and ceremonies as requested, ensuring a compassionate presence. Offer bereavement support and counseling, guiding families through the grieving process. Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop comprehensive care plans, integrating spiritual perspectives. Engage in community outreach and educational programs to promote understanding of hospice care and spiritual well-being. Offer hospice care support, attending to the spiritual needs of patients nearing end-of-life stages. Qualifications A degree in Theology, Divinity, or a related field is preferred. Previous experience in pastoral care or chaplaincy is highly desirable. Strong skills in bereavement support , mentoring , and crisis management are essential. Excellent communication abilities with a focus on active listening and empathy. Proficiency in public speaking and leading group discussions effectively. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others. Familiarity with hospice care practices is an advantage. Ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams while maintaining respect for diverse beliefs and backgrounds. This position requires a compassionate individual dedicated to serving others through spiritual guidance and emotional support.
