Job Description

Volunteer Coordinator 3.4 3.4 out of 5 stars 810 South Main Street, Walnut Cove, NC 27052 Patient Care Volunteer Coordinator Trellis Supportive Care is seeking an energetic, self-motivated, and highly relational and dynamic Volunteer Coordinator to support the Volunteer Services program by recruiting and placing volunteers with patients, providing ongoing education and volunteer supervision, and attending various community events to increase awareness of services and volunteer opportunities.

Ideal Candidate:

Local to the Stokes or Winston-Salem community with strong knowledge of community resources, events, programs, and activities.

Primary Office Location:

Walnut Cove and Winston Salem, with some remote flexibility.

Schedule:

40 hours per week Monday-Friday 8a-5p, with occasional flexibility needed

Responsibilities:

Work collaboratively with a dynamic and compassionate interdisciplinary team to create an exceptional patient/family experience, matching and coordinating visits by the hospice volunteer Participating in weekly interdisciplinary team meetings (IDT) Develop a community outreach plan to recruit new volunteers and increase volunteer engagement. Establish collaborative partnerships in the community for volunteer engagement, retention and recruitment. Participate in community relations activities and provide outreach and informational sessions at community events Assist as needed with the coordination and presentation of information sessions, volunteer orientation/training and other activities as requested by the Volunteer Services Manager. Participate in recruitment and retention programs. Provide interactive informational and training sessions to prospective volunteers. Participate in the onboarding activities for new volunteers and maintain required information and documentation for active volunteers Assisting with preparing, analyzing, and maintaining hospice volunteer reports and statistics

Qualifications/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in human service, Behavioral Science, Nonprofit Management or equivalent experience and training preferred. Prior work experience in a healthcare setting preferred. Prior volunteer services experience strongly preferred.

Skills/Abilities:

Ability to recruit volunteers and increase volunteer engagement in the Rowan, Davidson, and adjacent areas. Proficiency with presentation skills in a professional setting. Work as an integral member of an interdisciplinary. Accept and respect different lifestyles, cultures, beliefs and values. Understands the hospice philosophy. Comfortable in various homecare and long-term care settings. Compassionate interpersonal communication skills. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
