Role:

This part-time position, Monday through Thursday, from 5 pm to 10 pm, is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of residents during evening hours. You will provide a calming and supportive presence, monitor resident activity, and de-escalate potential conflicts. This role is vital in creating a safe and trusting environment for the women we serve.

Responsibilities:

Monitor resident activity throughout the night shift to ensure safety and security. Conduct regular patrols of the shelter and respond to any resident concerns or emergencies. De-escalate conflicts and maintain a calm and supportive environment. Document all incidents and interactions clearly and concisely. Maintain confidentiality of resident information. Collaborate with staff on all shifts to ensure continuity of care. Uphold the mission and values of the Mother Susan Anderson Mission Home.

Qualifications:

Minimum 1 year of experience working in a social service setting (preferred) Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to de-escalate conflict situations and maintain a calm demeanor Excellent observation and documentation skills Compassion and understanding of the challenges faced by women in need Commitment to providing excellent customer service Ability to work independently and as part of a team Reliable transportation and availability to work nights and weekends (flexible schedule)
