Job Summary:

The Deputy Sheriff is responsible for enforcing local and state laws, providing public safety services, responding to emergencies, conducting investigations, and ensuring the overall security of Allendale County. This position requires integrity, sound judgment, and a commitment to public service.

Key Responsibilities:

Patrol assigned areas of the county to deter and detect crime Respond to emergency calls, accidents, and incidents Investigate crimes, interview witnesses and suspects, and gather evidence Serve warrants, subpoenas, and other court documents Provide court security and inmate transport as needed Complete detailed and accurate reports and documentation Engage in community policing and public outreach Maintain professionalism and comply with departmental policies at all times

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be a U.S. citizen High school diploma or GED required Valid South Carolina driver’s license At least 21 years of age No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history Able to pass a background check, drug screening, psychological evaluation, and physical fitness test Certified or able to become certified by the
