Settlement Specialist Allen Law Firm, P.A. Gainesville, FL Salary commensurate with experience. Offices in Gainesville & Ocala. The Settlement Specialist plays a key role in helping the law firm close out personal injury cases after they have been settled. This includes preparing simple and accurate settlement statements, requesting and collecting signatures on required forms, communicating with clients, verifying balances with medical providers, and working to reduce medical bills and liens. This position requires strong organization, basic math skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work quickly and accurately. Strong communication skills are essential, especially when speaking with clients and medical providers. Qualifications Bi-lingual (either Spanish/English) preferred. Excellent and professional verbal and written communication skills. Motivated self-starter with attention to detail. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality, and exercise discretion and good judgment. Task oriented and able to meet deadlines while prioritizing assignments. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all aspects of the position. Must be able to work effectively within a team environment. Proficient with software related to job responsibilities. Computer literacy is essential; knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Zoom. Responsibilities Prepare accurate settlement statements showing attorney fees, expenses, medical bills, and client payouts. Send release forms to clients and follow up to ensure timely signature and return. Gather all final documents needed to close each case. Follow firm guidelines and procedures for file completion and disbursement. Ensure compliance with all legal, ethical, and internal firm procedures in closing files. Contact medical providers to confirm outstanding balances (balance verification). Contact lien holders for itemized ledgers and verify balances. Request reductions or payment adjustments from providers and lienholders. Keep records of communications with medical offices and document all updates in the case management system. Call or email clients to explain the settlement breakdown in simple terms. Provide regular updates to clients throughout the settlement process. Ensure clients understand what they are receiving and what is being paid out, addressing questions and concerns with patience and empathy. Work with attorneys and paralegals to resolve outstanding issues before disbursing funds. Keep files organized and updated in the firm’s system. Coordinate with paralegals for settlement meetings and check pickup. Monitor and track case status to ensure timely file closure. Maintain proper file organization and ensure all information is logged in the case management system.

$37,000.00 – $50,000.00 per year
