  • Healy & Jordan, PLLC is hiring a detail-oriented, motivated Paralegal / Legal Assistant to support attorneys and senior staff in both civil and criminal matters at our downtown Gulfport law firm.

This entry-level position is ideal for someone who is organized, tech-comfortable, and ready to grow their legal career through hands-on experience and on-the-job training. In this role, you’ll be instrumental in supporting our attorneys and staff by conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, managing deadlines, and assisting in case preparation. You’ll play a key role in our litigation efforts and contribute to the successful resolution of legal matters with professionalism and attention to detail.

  • Key Responsibilities Draft legal documents including discovery responses, oppositions to motions, substitutions of attorney, and general correspondence Prepare legal templates and forms for attorney review Organize and maintain case files (digital and physical) Track deadlines and ensure timely filings Communicate with courts, clients, and opposing counsel to schedule depositions, court hearings, mediations, and trials Provide general litigation and administrative support to attorneys and senior paralegals•Qualifications 2+ years of legal assistant or paralegal experience preferred (especially in family law, civil litigation, personal injury, or criminal law) Ability to draft legal documents independently (without relying solely on templates) Comfortable with Microsoft Office, PDFs, and learning new systems (Clio a plus) Experience handling sensitive or confidential legal information Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, and case progression in civil, domestic, or criminal matters•Preferred but not required Associate’s degree or coursework in paralegal studies, criminal justice, or related field Prior experience in a law office or professional services setting Interest in growing into a long-term paralegal role•Join Our Team Healy & Jordan, PLLC is a fast-paced, small law firm where your contributions will directly impact both our operational success and long-term growth as a team.
