Georgia – Milledgeville Job Description This position will provide leadership and management for Oyamacor’s overall Safety Program at the construction site level. This includes oversight of various construction projects and contractors at an energy sector facility in Milledgeville, Georgia.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Preferred BS or BA degree in occupational health and safety or related field experience. Minimum of 10 year’s experience in the following areas is required. Construction site safety at industrial sites (ie electric generating plants and electrical substations). Leading safety compliance programs. Conduct tailgate meetings and develop and manage Site JSA’s. Provide health and safety guidance, direction, and coaching; serve as a subject matter expert and technical advisor. Five (5) years of a leadership capacity role such as Safety Lead/Manager, or other comparable leadership in the construction industry. Experience managing and supervising safety site lead personnel at sites throughout Georgia (east region). Extensive experience in delivering appropriate health and safety education/training programs and other services at a facility level. Experience with monitoring, evaluation, analysis, tracking and publication of safety performance reports. Ensure that the facility and all contractors/vendors comply with all Federal, State and Local Safety Regulations. Ensure training as needed Ensure training for applicable regulatory and corporate safety standards is completed. Provide safety topics and materials to supervisors to review during shift meetings. Manage the investigative processes for all injuries and illnesses, report findings to help determine accident root cause, and provide corrective and/or preventative actions.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure safety standards per company policies and OSHA standards are implemented at jobsites and that on-site leadership is enforcing it. Uphold high customer service standards through personal leadership and managed employees. Follow & promote all guidelines, policies and procedures established by the company. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, health & safety laws & ordinances including but not limited to ASHE, OSHA, and the DOT. The ability to multi-task effectively and manage stress load appropriately. Maintain an organized workspace and communication system with your Safety field team members and company personnel. Working knowledge of safety and health regulations, national safety & health standards, industry safety best practices, workers compensation, safety management practices and principles. Background in process driven industries, to include but not be limited to, electric and gas utilities, heavy construction, industrial process facilities, etc. Electric utility experience is preferred. Solid background in industrial construction safety role. Solid knowledge of and experience in steel erection, and associated crane/rigging requirements. Solid knowledge of, and experience in Control of Hazardous Energy Sources and LOTO systems. Solid knowledge of, and experience in Industrial Construction Start-Up and Commissioning work. Knowledge and experience implementing behavior-based safety process (ie STEP).
