What you will be doing:
Reduces the number of job related accidents and injuries
Ensures employees are trained in proper safety and hazmat protocols according to regulations and company policies
Coordinates and conducts classroom training to Management and hourly teams, to include: “powered industrial truck” training, hazmat, and behavioral safety training
Oversees the account Trainers for PIT, BST, and Hazmat
Identifies and develops PIT, BST, and Hazmat trainers with Corporate support
Partners with Corporate EHS team to ensure compliance and drive performance
Develops and communicates daily, weekly, and monthly safety topics as needed
Develops and implements training documentation changes, signage, and 5S projects
Ensures compliance for DOT, FAA, and OSHA regulations
Prepares each account for unannounced regulatory visits (OSHA, DOT, FAA, etc) based on Corporate direction and annual Corporate Compliance Audits
Conducts weekly & monthly audits for compliance
Promotes & supports employee annual Safety Week and Top Gun events
Manages employee safety and hazmat documentation
Requirements:
Maintain and enhance current safety protocols
Reporting, managing, presenting GEODIS safety position to customer
Implement and enforce safety protocols and OSHA guidelines to maintain a safe working environment. Oversee a team of warehouse associates, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
Oversee daily operations, including receiving, storage, inventory management, order fulfillment, shipping activities, and project implementation.
Ensure the safe and efficient use of warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.), and maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate restocking of products to prevent shortages or overstocking.
Work with the Warehouse Manager to establish and meet operational goals, including productivity targets and cost efficiency.
Track and report key warehouse performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, shipping times, and inventory turnover.
Manage the timely and accurate processing of incoming and outgoing shipments.
Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to orders, inventory, or shipments.
Maintain accurate records of inventory and warehouse transactions.
Ensure proper documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Attending training on subjects of ISO, safety, business controls, etc. and cascade to your team.
Communicate with employees and other department supervisors and managers on a regular basis.
Contribute to other company internal projects and continuous improvements
High school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency
Bachelor’s degree from a 4 year college or university preferred
Minimum 2 to 4 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with warehouse equipment
Working knowledge of the following: CFR 29 Labor (OSHA) and CFR 49 Transportation (DOT)
Knowledge in the storage, handling and shipping of hazardous materials
Knowledge of NFPA regulations with regards to flammable liquids, corrosives, etc.
PC literate to include Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills Ability to conduct training classes for audiences at all levels of the organization
Ability to develop and proof training materials
Proven presentation and facilitation skills
Ability to write reports and correspondence
Ability to solve practical problems
