Compensation:
$161,083 $196,885 annually
WEST VALLEY DEMONSTRATION PROJECT
is the prime contractor selected by the U.S. Department of Energy to manage the Phase 1 Facility Disposition Project at the West Valley Demonstration Project. The site is a scenic 30-minute drive south of Buffalo, New York. In cooperation with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, CHBWV continues to decontaminate and decommission facilities at this site.
JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE OF
POSITIONThe Radiological Safety Manager will provide programmatic and field implementation guidance of the site Radiological Safety Program for upcoming project scope that will include, but not be limited to, the demolition of remaining near- and below-grade components of the Main Plant Process Building; facility deactivation and demolition; contaminated soils remediation and disposition; waste management and legacy waste disposition; safeguards and security; environmental monitoring; surveillance and maintenance; and program support activities.
The Radiological Safety Manager will oversee all aspects of the WVDP radiological safety program, will maintain regulatory compliance using prior experience and expert level understanding of Federal, State, and local regulations and of national and international radiation protection standards and recommendations, and will oversee and improve upon an established radiological safety program to ensure the Radiological Safety of the WVCA workforce, public and the environment
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree in engineering, science, or safety-related technical field or demonstrated equivalent combination or education and experience.
Minimum of ten (10) years of related experience including 3 years of supervisory/management experience.
Minimum of four (4) years of experience working at a nuclear facility or DOE government contractor.
Licenses/Certifications:
Certification by the American Board of Health Physicists is preferred in accordance with the DOE RadCon Standard Article 142.NRRPT registration and/or CHP certification preferred.
