Your proactive involvement will be instrumental in creating a safe working environment for employees, subcontractors, and clients alike. Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-project visits to identify safety and environmental risks before work commences.
- Develop site-specific safety plans and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs) for ongoing projects.
- Evaluate active project sites for compliance with safety protocols and regulations.
- Document and report unsafe work conditions and potential hazards.
- Collaborate with project management and site teams to address safety concerns effectively.
- Implement corrective and preventive measures for identified safety issues.
- Audit safety training records for adherence to industry standards.
- Investigate accidents and safety incidents, using findings to improve safety practices.
- Provide regular updates to management on safety performance and improvements.
- Ensure all necessary safety documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Verify that project sites are equipped with appropriate safety gear and equipment. Qualifications
- 5-7 years of construction safety management experience or a combination of relevant training and experience.
- At least a High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred experience or training in underground utilities construction, excavation, Site work, hauling, etc.
- Thorough understanding of OSHA, MSHA, and EPA regulations.
- Ability to analyze and interpret safety-related regulations and business documentation.
- Exemplary judgment and decision-making skills in safety matters.
- Strong multitasking ability in a fast-paced project environment.
- Effective interpersonal skills for collaboration with various team members.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex situations. Work Environment
- Work may involve exposure to diverse weather conditions and environmental hazards.
- Regularly in proximity to moving machinery and equipment.
- Frequent work in high-risk areas requires personal protective measures.
- Exposure to noise levels that can be disruptive. Travel
- This position requires travel to job sites for up to 80% of the time. Licenses & Certifications
- Valid state-issued Driver’s License meeting company guidelines.
- OSHA 10- and 30-Hour Construction Certifications preferred.
