The Event Security Officer is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of Truist Park, its guests, staff, and assets during events and regular operations. These positions include roving security officers, access control officers and fixed positioned officers. This role involves monitoring access points, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, managing crowd control, responding to emergencies, and collaborating with law enforcement and emergency responders as needed. An Event Security role may be for you if: You are prepared to work approximately 85% of the games following your potential hire date.
You can report 2.5 hours before first pitch and remain on-site for up to an hour after the last out.
You can stay active for a minimum of 6 hours, navigate moderate distances as well as ramps and stairs in emergency response situations.
You can work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, and rain. As well as available to work during nights, weekends, and holidays.
You have reliable transportation ensuring you can commute to and from work for all games, including instances of weather delays or extra innings.

Responsibilities include the following:

Verifying authorization to enter Truist Park property via ID badge and credential checks.
Performing thorough security screening of fans, employees, vendors and guests via bag checks and the use of hand held and walk thru metal detection equipment.
Maintain working knowledge of security policies and procedures.
Respond to and report all issues or concerns pertaining to security/safety immediately to security supervisors, security management and other departments as needed.
Investigate incidents to determine/recommend problem solutions. Reporting via Incident report system in a timely manner.
Roving throughout the ballpark, Plaza and outer perimeter.
Exemplify quality customer service and professionalism.
Escort employees, players, coaches, special guest, staff and visitors as required.
Assist with post-event security sweeps of the venue to ensure all areas are clear and secure.
Secure and lock up restricted areas once the event has concluded.
All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or proof of successful completion of equivalency exam.
Previous security or managerial experience is preferred, but not required. P.O.S.T. Certification is a plus.
Junior or Senior in College in good standing with the institution.
Highly effective communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)
Ability to stand for up to 4 hours during a shift and walk moderate distances. Must be able to navigate ramps and stairs.
Computer proficiency (minimum Microsoft Office) required.
Working knowledge of security search procedures and search equipment (HHMD, WTMD) is preferred, but not necessary.
Working knowledge of access control procedures is preferred, but not necessary.
An understanding and appreciation for diverse cultures and an ability to work effectively and relate well with individuals of diverse backgrounds
Initiative with the ability to accept a high degree of responsibility and act with a sense of urgency and accountability.
Ability to work long hours (possible weather delay or extra innings), weekends, concerts/special events and holidays.
Familiarity with security escort requirements for restricted areas is preferred, but not necessary.
