Staff armed security posts and provide security for the personnel and property of, and visitors to, assigned US Government Property in Philadelphia, PA and the surrounding counties.
ResponsibilitiesProtect personnel and property in a professional mannerMeet and deal tactfully and politely with general public and visitorsEffectively and efficiently screen and process visitorsIdentify, report, delay or detain persons who violate rules and regulationsConduct internal and external roving foot patrolsSome postings require the ability to maintain excellent detection rate on x-ray machineDetect and respond to alarms and emergenciesSecure entrances and exits during emergenciesCommunicate and remain accessible via two-way radio or company-issued cell phoneUnderstand and comply with all requirements defined within company documents to include: Post and General Orders, plans, policies, proceduresObserve and report all offenses/incidentsComplete all reports and paperwork as requiredProvide first aid, CPR, and assist during emergencies as necessaryMust be able to wear protective body armor as a part of the duty uniformMaintain mandated training requirements in accordance with company guidanceMaintain physical fitness, agility requirements, and weapons qualificationsEnsure safety requirements compliance and safe work practicesSupport safety programsParticipate in Quality and Process Improvement programsPerform other duties as assignedRegular, in-person attendance is requiredQualificationsA US Citizen with social security cardMust possess a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalentMust be at least 21 years of ageMust have a current PA Act 235 Lethal Weapons Training Program CertificationA minimum of two years’ armed work experience in one or a combination of the following: (1) armed security guard experience within past five years, (2) relevant military service, or (3) successful completion of a state certified law enforcement education and training or police officer’s standard training courseMust meet and maintain medical, physical, and psychological standards as outlined in the contractMeet background screening and U.S. Government suitability requirementsPosition may require the ability to acquire, and maintain, a security clearanceSuccessful completion of Protective Security Officer Training and certificationBENEFITSConstellis offers a comprehensive, total rewards package that includes competitive compensation and a flexible benefits package that reflect its commitment to creating a diverse and supportive workplace.

Physical RequirementsDuties require lifting more than 10 pounds, bending twisting, standing and some activities that involve standing for long periods of time, often without breaks. Requires conducting foot patrols and response to alarms in varied weather conditions. 90% of the work will require some sort of physical activity.
Heavy work:
Exerting up to 200 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Must have visual and audio acuity to operate motor vehicles or h avy equipment, machines such as fire equipment and apparatuses, firearms and clearing barrels. May be required to be fitted for and/or wear a respirator.
