Responsibilities:

Diagnosis and Troubleshooting:

Inspect vehicles thoroughly to identify problems, often utilizing computerized diagnostic equipment (e.g., scan tools, multimeters) to read and interpret diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs). Conduct comprehensive tests on various vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, electrical systems, HVAC, and emissions. Analyze test results, technical manuals, and service bulletins to determine the root cause of malfunctions.

Repair and Maintenance:

Perform a wide range of repairs, including but not limited to, replacing worn or faulty components such as brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors, belts, hoses, and filters. Execute repairs to manufacturer and customer specifications, adhering to industry best practices. Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid level checks, tire rotations, and tune-ups. Repair or replace engine management systems, fuel systems, ignition systems, and other complex components. Conduct wheel alignments and balancing using specialized equipment. Overhaul or rebuild faulty assemblies (e.g., power steering systems, linkages, transmissions).

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

Comprehensive Automotive Systems Knowledge:

In-depth understanding of how engines, transmissions, brakes, steering, suspension, electrical systems, HVAC, fuel systems, and emissions systems function.

Diagnostic Proficiency:
