Maintenance Technician Job Description We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our dynamic team. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of various machinery, including CNC machines, drill presses, grinding machines, and more. This position requires expertise in CNC maintenance, particularly with mills and lathes, as you will be responsible for preventive and reactive maintenance tasks. You will work with standard tools provided onsite, ensuring machines are productive and operational. Responsibilities Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on CNC machines, drill presses, grinding machines, and other machinery. Utilize standard tools such as drills, impacts, sockets, and meters for maintenance tasks. Quickly address machine breakdowns to ensure minimal downtime and maintain productivity. Review notes from the second shift to identify repair needs and prioritize tasks for the day. Fix belts, grease machines, troubleshoot, and repair ladder control, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, and other basic electrical mechanical components. Maintain logs of completed tasks and inform the team about necessary parts and inventory management. Engage in general housekeeping and light maintenance during downtime. Conduct local road trips to deliver or receive parts once fully trained and permanently employed. Essential Skills 2+ years of specific CNC maintenance experience Proficiency in maintenance and repair of hydraulic components and CNC controls Basic electrical maintenance and repair skills Understanding of pneumatics and PLC control Strong troubleshooting abilities Additional Skills & Qualifications Excellent attitude, aptitude, attention to detail, and attendance Team player with strong communication skills Ability to work collaboratively alongside peers Why Work Here? Work Environment You will work in a clean and organized shop floor with a total of 160 employees on the floor and 200 in the facility. The position operates on the 1st shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with some flexibility after training. Overtime is available most weekends, occasionally requiring all hands on deck for maintenance tasks. The company is committed to providing a positive work environment and supporting employee growth. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Hartford, Connecticut. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 – $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
