//tcd.semtribe.com/ The Electrician position is based on the Brighton Reservation located at 650 East Harney Pond Rd. Okeechobee, FL 34974 and covers Seminole Residences up to a 100 mile radius. The staff schedule is full-time Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with an overnight on-call rotation that includes neighboring counties. In case of extreme weather, such as hurricanes, the Housing department is considered essential staff so the team may need to change the work schedule to work evenings and weekends to assist the community. Position Summary This is skilled work at the journeyman level regarding the installation, alteration, maintenance and repair of electrical systems, equipment and fixtures for the STOF Brighton Reservation and Housing operational facilities. The incumbent in this position will be responsible for performing skilled electrical tasks in accordance with standard electrical trade practices. Duties include working independently with considerable latitude in determining methods of work and using specialized tools and testing instruments of the electrical trade. Assignments may be verbal or consist of sketches, blueprints and electrical diagrams. Employees are frequently assisted by various skilled and unskilled trades’ helpers who assist in various phases of electrical work.

Qualifications / Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent GED is required. Electrician License/certification valid for the State of Florida is required. A minimum of one (1) years of experience working as a skilled electrician or related field is required. An equivalent combination of education/training and experience will be considered. Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License, is required. Demonstrate excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to travel to all Reservations and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
