Looking for a Maintenance Technician in our Fall River Wastewater Plant. Candidate must have mechanical experience. Inspects, maintains, repairs, and installs mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulics on all facility equipment. Essential Job Functions Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment according to vendor specifications. Inspects and troubleshoots equipment using tools and gauges of the trade; obtains necessary parts through established procedures. Performs mechanically related activities specified by work order. Performs routine lubrication of equipment, motors, and vehicles and changes oils as specified by manufactures specifications. Reports and documents results of inspections and work performed. Operates vehicles and mobile equipment for plant maintenance purposes. Assures work is performed in a safe and professional manner by following established safety, operating, and emergency response procedures. Performs cleanup and housekeeping task for work area, tools, and equipment. This is an hourly, union position. Schedule is 1st shift – Sunday through Thursday Performs related duties as needed. Essential Job Requirements Ability to work in various positions which require bending (60%), walking (20%), standing (10%), and sitting (5%). Requires lying on back, kneeling, crawling, twisting, and squatting. Body movements require working with hands extended above and below head and from body up to 40 minutes, using hand tools weighing up to 15 pounds. Must be able to lift and carry, 60 pounds in standing and bending positions, and carry while walking distances of 10 feet. Ability to work on ladders, catwalks, and supports at heights of 50 feet above the ground, and down to 25 feet below ground level. Requires working in outside and inside environments with noise and all temperatures and climatic conditions, and must be able to work under adverse weather conditions for extended periods of time. Requires using chemicals and cleaning solvents to maintain and repair equipment. Must have a valid driver’s license and operator’s license with safe driving record. Must demonstrate a working ability to use computer programs for maintenance management. Requires working knowledge of the ‘standard practices, common tools, materials, occupational hazards, and safety precautions of the trade as acquired through two years of on-the-job training. Requires thorough knowledge relating to the maintenance of pumps, blowers, compressors, and other electrically driven equipment. Must have the ability to safely operate material handling equipment, and to safely use trade tools and equipment to inspect, maintain, or install equipment. Required ability to fabricate parts as needed. Requires good reading, math, writing, scientific, and verbal communication skills and the ability to read blueprints, specifications and vendor instructions.
