Floor Technician / Custodian Position Available In Wake, North Carolina

Floor Technician / Custodian Hayes Barton Place 2600 Yettington Drive, Raleigh, NC 27608 Hayes Barton Place Senior Living is searching for a full-time Floor Technician/Custodian to join our team. This position will involve routine cleaning of clubhouse amenity floors using professional machines, community trash on certain days of the week, and being a trained member of our housekeeping department.

Purpose:

To assure all floors in Facility are maintained by dust mopping, damp mopping, spray buffing, stripping, sealing waxing, vacuuming, etc. per schedule and as deemed necessary.

Essential Job Functions and Requirements:

Full-time Housekeeping Porter/Floor Tech works 37½ hours per week. Works 7½ hours per day with two ten-minute breaks and one thirty minute lunch break. 1. Dust mop or vacuum corridors daily. 2. Damp mop or vacuum corridors daily. 3. Spray buff designated hard surface areas daily. 4. Shampoo and or extract designated carpeted surface areas daily. 5. Keep corridors free of build-up of dirt, etc., including baseboards and corners. 6. Clean up any spill on corridor immediately using facility procedures. 7. Assist Housekeeping Assistants as needed. 8. Assist with room cleaning for new admissions or room to room transfers. 9. Strip, wax and seal floors per schedule. 10. Deep clean resident room floors per schedule. 11. Assist with set-up and clean up of rooms for meetings as scheduled. 12. Assist with removing soiled linen holding area, and returning clean, empty carts to Soiled Utility Rooms, as necessary. 13.

Clean equipment:

buffer, mop caddy and bucket at the end of shift. Place soiled mops and buffing pads in a plastic bag and take to laundry for processing. 14. Assist director with duties as requested. 15. Recheck all areas and clean as needed before end of shift. 16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Other Essential Qualifications and Requisites:

1. Must be a high school graduate. 2. Must attend the required in-services for all staff. 3. Must be able to write and read with clarity sufficient to follow instructions. 4. Must follow cleaning, mopping, and buffing schedules. 5. Must be kind and respectful to residents. 6. Must demonstrate neat appearance and good personnel hygiene. 7. Must read, know and follow personnel, department and Facility policies. 8. Must wear appropriate uniform and name tag. 9. Must know how to reset the fire alarm panel and pull stations. 10. Must be knowledgeable of the fire and disaster plan of Facility and follow procedures.

Must be able to see dust, dirt, food particles, etc., on floors, as well as discoloration of floors. 3.

Hearing:

Must be able to hear emergency pages and fire alarm. 4.

Physical:

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as well as perform twisting, bending, stooping, walking, etc. throughout the day.

Essential Safety Requirements:

Must be knowledgeable of Exposure Control Plan for Blood borne Pathogens and follow policies and procedures. Must wear personal protective equipment as required (PPE will be provided and available for employees) Must follow cleaning procedures for contaminated areas and surfaces, etc. Must set up wet-floor caution signs before wet mopping floor. Must report any unsafe equipment or condition to Immediate Supervisor.
