Technician Certification EPA Universal Certification Manual handling 2 years Communication skills Full Job Description Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, technical training in one or more trades, and at least two (2) years of progressive maintenance experience in the multifamily or commercial real estate industries. The position requires the ability to work on-call (including weekends and evenings) as assigned. The Maintenance Technician will assist with grounds-keeping; scheduling and performing preventative maintenance; maintaining tools and equipment to ensure that it is operational; and managing inventory/supply levels to avoid shortages. Other duties will include maintaining a safe work area while diagnosing and performing minor and routine maintenance/repairs including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, water irrigation, stairs, gates, railings, patios, flooring (all types), general roofing, lighting, fireplaces, ceiling fans, windows and related hardware, locks, security systems, leaks, and basic carpentry, painting and masonry. The Maintenance Technician will also execute all make-ready repairs and services. Must be able to lift fifty (50) pounds. EPA 608 certification (Level I & Level II or Universal) is preferred (candidates without this certification will be provided with training and a subsidy to complete the examination within 6 months of hire). The position is full-time and requires candidates with progressive maintenance experience and a track record of success. You must have strong communication skills and be able to work successfully and collaboratively in a team environment.
