An established organization in the food service industry is seeking skilled Diesel Mechanics to join its maintenance team. This role involves comprehensive repair and maintenance of diesel equipment to ensure operational efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, and replace components, performing all necessary repairs on various diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, and lift gates. Execute preventative maintenance procedures in accordance with established standards. Accurately document all repair orders, preventative maintenance tasks, and parts accountability. Respond to road service calls and perform roadside assistance or equipment transport as required. Track assigned repairs by utilizing a specialized shop management system. Maintain a clean and secure work environment, adhering to all workplace safety rules, regulations, and government guidelines. Manage inventory and maintain accurate records. Provide support and backup to other personnel within the maintenance shop. Demonstrate a willingness and capacity for increased responsibility and obtaining additional certifications. Perform other assigned duties.
Requirements:
Ability to comply with environmental and occupational safety regulations applicable to the shop and fleet. Experience with reefer units. Proficiency in the English language to effectively participate in training, engage in conversations, receive safety and job-related coaching, and comprehend technical and service manuals. Strong communication skills and a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and drivers. Capability to manage multiple tasks concurrently within a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Adaptability to evolving organizational and operational requirements. Competence in computer and software applications. Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Competitive hourly compensation ranging from $33.00 to $45.00, depending on experience and location. In New York, the expected compensation for this role is $33.00 – $45.00/hour, with eligibility for overtime.
