We are seeking an experienced Field Service Technician in Statesboro, Georgia to install, repair and maintain machinery and equipment, respond to service calls, and conduct maintenance overhauls at customer sites. What you’ll do: Install equipment at customer packing sites and train customers to operate and maintain that equipment Perform preventative maintenance on equipment at customer sites as defined by the Sinclair Scheduled Maintenance Plan (SMP) Overhaul and update equipment in the field or in Sinclair shops as defined by the Sinclair Scheduled Maintenance Plan (SMP) Provide technical support to customers and Sinclair contracted representatives Maintain equipment service records, and assist with documenting equipment configurations Monitor and maintain spare parts inventories in Sinclair service vehicle, workshop and customer sites Monitor customer label inventories and communicates possible label requirements to the sales department Assist the engineering department by testing and evaluating new components as well as reporting on current component reliability Assist in evaluating both Sinclair and competitive machinery & equipment in the field Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all models of Sinclair equipment and ensure customers are given appropriate information and/or assistance to optimize the use of that equipment Obtain measurements and other detail of customer equipment onto which equipment may be installed Assist in training and performance monitoring of contracted service personnel as directed Assist in service activities previously stated outside of own territory, as directed Participate in special projects as required, both in and out of own territory What you need to be successful: Experience servicing electro-mechanical equipment Sound mechanical ability and basic understanding of AC and DC circuits, motors and controllers Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits using schematic drawings and electrical test equipment Practical experience with personal computers is required for file management, report writing, etc. Travel domestically and internationally as required; primarily within the US, Canada and Mexico Valid Driver’s License Ability to communicate effectively with customers’ management as well as machine operators while maintaining a positive customer-oriented attitude After appropriate training Service Technicians must be capable of understanding label making processes and the problems that can occur with labels Excellent attention to detail, organized and communications skills Ability to work within a team environment and with external partners Associate’s degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Write routine reports and correspondence Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form Ability to problem solve involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
