This role involves operating various types of machinery to perform excavation tasks efficiently and safely. The Excavation Operator will play a crucial role in preparing sites for construction, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards. Responsibilities Operate heavy machinery including backhoes, bulldozers, loaders, and dump trucks to perform excavation tasks. Conduct horizontal drilling and manage water truck operations as required. Dig trenches, holes, and foundations while adhering to safety regulations and guidelines. Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with team members to coordinate excavation activities and ensure project timelines are met. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following all safety protocols. Troubleshoot mechanical issues with equipment and report any major concerns to supervisors. Experience Proven experience in heavy equipment operation, specifically with Caterpillar machinery. Strong mechanical knowledge is preferred to assist with basic repairs and maintenance of equipment. Familiarity with excavation techniques, including backhoe operation and bulldoze work. Experience operating water trucks and understanding their function within excavation projects is a plus. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment while demonstrating strong communication skills.
