Job Overview:

We are looking for a dependable and skilled Maintenance Assistant to support the upkeep and repair of our mushroom farm facilities, with a focus on growing rooms . This position requires hands-on experience in carpentry, masonry, and roofing , and involves routine maintenance to help ensure our cultivation areas remain functional, clean, and safe for production.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform carpentry repairs and tasks within growing areas, including framing, panel replacement, and general structural upkeep. Carry out masonry work such as patching, resurfacing, and maintaining concrete floors and walkways. Support roof maintenance by inspecting and repairing leaks, gutters, and water drainage systems that impact growing room conditions. Assist in the maintenance and replacement of plastic curtains, dividers, and containment systems within the tunnels. Support general maintenance needs, including plumbing, basic electrical, and equipment upkeep as needed. Help during room turnarounds to ensure that growing rooms are ready for the next production cycle. Operate tools and equipment safely and maintain clean, organized workspaces. Follow all safety and biosecurity protocols while working in or near growing rooms.

Requirements:

2+ years of experience in general maintenance. Hands-on skills in carpentry, masonry, and roofing. Ability to work in hot, humid, and physically demanding environments. Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks involving standing, bending, and climbing. Familiarity with hand and power tools. Team player with good communication skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Schedule:

Full-time, with flexibility to work weekends or holidays based on farm needs.

$16.00 – $18.00 per hour Expected hours: 45 – 48 per week
