Maintenance Aide Maryville Housing Authority Maryville, TN 37801 Residential Maintenance Aide Position Needed. The Maryville Housing Authority is seeking a motivated, trade accomplished individual for a Maintenance Aide position. A minimum of 2 years’ experience in building maintenance and cleaning experience is preferred. Trade requirements shall include intermediate semiskilled custodial and manual work in the care and cleaning of Authority Owned building and grounds. Preferred Certificates (but not required) in HVAC, Electrical, and small appliance are a strong plus. Maryville Housing Authority offers a 4/10-day work schedule. Successful Applicants are required to submit a pre-employment drug and background screening. Job Functions include but are not limited to the follow. Assisting with plumbing, electrical, painting and carpentry work and the cleaning and maintenance of facilities; cleans and paints vacant apartments; washes walls and windows, cleans appliances; varnishes cabinets and doors, touches up wall paint; checks and replaces light bulbs and cleans light fixtures. Paints occupied units, sands, primes and paints outside doors and railings Assists with checking and changing air filters; cleans bathrooms, laundry rooms and public areas; sweeps mops, strips and waxes floors; unstops drains, repairs sinks, toilets and tubs Loads and unloads cleaning and polishing equipment and materials; carries out trash; Prepares rooms for meetings. Mows grass, trims shrubbery, cleans grounds, shovels snow. Performs related tasks as required.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to pass post-offer physical limitations screening and drug and alcohol screening . This is medium work requiring the exertion of 50 pounds or force occasionally, up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; and some heavy work requiring the exertions of 100 pounds of force occasionally, Work requires climbing, balancing, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling lifting, and grasping; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken work; hearing is required to perceive information an normal spoken word levels; visual acuity is required for operation of machines, determining the accuracy and thoroughness of work, and observing general surroundings and activities; the worker is subject to inside and outside environmental conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, noise, vibration, hazards, and oils. The worker may be exposed to blood borne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment.
